Max Higbee Center Open Positions:

Program Manager

Plan, lead, and enjoy fun activities while collaboratively guiding a caring and committed team to support and empower teens and adults with developmental disabilities to build friendships, engage in the community, experience personal growth, improve their health, and experience the joy of recreation.

This position offers a flexible schedule, averaging around 35 hours a week. Program shifts run Monday through Saturday; a schedule will be determined collaboratively with the current Program Manager upon hire. The ideal candidate will be able to work some Saturdays. This is a manager level position with pay of $16-19 per hour depending on experience. Paid time off is provided per Max Higbee Center’s PTO Policy.

As a Program Manager, you are responsible for effectively and creatively planning, developing, and leading weekly community-based recreation programs for teens and adults with developmental disabilities. You will support and implement activities for our established in-person and virtual programs as well as support staff, members and families in their program engagement. You will also help lead planning/administrative functions such as program calendar creation, program development and implementation, outreach to community partners, staff supervision and support, attendance tracking, and note-taking.

Recreation Services Manager

As the Recreation Services Manager, you are responsible for leading individualized recreation services that pair 1 staff member with a Max Higbee Center member to develop and support personal social and recreation goals and interests in the community. You will provide these services and supervise and lead a team of Recreation Service Leaders in delivery services. You can also expect to do some planning and administrative functions such as scheduling, outreach to community partners, staff supervision and support, DSHS program reporting, facilitating meetings, and other tasks as needed.

Recreation Leader

Lead and enjoy fun activities while working collaboratively to support and empower teens and adults with developmental disabilities to build friendships, engage in the community, experience personal growth, improve their health, and experience the joy of recreation.

This position offers a flexible schedule contingent upon availability; ideally averaging around 10-25 hours per week with room for growth as desired. Program shifts run Monday through Saturday; a schedule will be determined collaboratively with the Program Manager upon hire. The ideal candidate will be able to work some Saturdays. This is an entry level position with pay of $14-16 per hour depending on experience, a $500 sign-on bonus, and retention bonuses. Paid time off is provided per Max Higbee Center’s PTO Policy.

As a Recreation Leader, you are responsible for implementing and leading weekly community-based recreation programs for teens and adults with developmental disabilities under the general support of our Program Manager. Our established in-person and virtual programs require you to assist members in their program engagement with a wide variety of recreation opportunities while respecting and supporting their individual choices and autonomy. You will also help with light administrative functions such as attendance tracking and note-taking.
