Construction is complete at Max Higbee Center's New Home!

Building a New Home: A story of community support to create a legacy of inclusion in Whatcom County

In 2018, Max Higbee Center began fundraising for a larger facility to eliminate its growing waiting list for services. The community responded with overwhelming support for this important project and construction started in February 2020 to fully remodel 1400 N. State Street in downtown Bellingham. This facility will triple the Center’s size, improve access with close proximity to the bus station (one block away!), and improve services with a functional, accessible, and welcoming space that will meet the needs and dreams of participants and programs.

Construction was completed and we moved into our new facility in the beginning of 2021. We began holding small group cohort programs April 2021.
