Max Higbee Center is breaking ground and making history!
Thanks to the support of an entire community, Max Higbee Center surpassed our fundraising goals and began construction on our new home!
Thank you Ram Construction and Zervas Architects for your incredible support in building our new home.
Thank you to our major donors, City of Bellingham, Whatcom County, First Federal Community Foundation, Chuckanut Health Foundation, Foster Family Foundation, Superfeet Worldwide, Larson Gross,Boundary Bay Brewery, Gayland Gump & Gail Goldie, the Shenton family, and the Grafenauer family, for integral funding and support in our capital campaign.
And thank you to the countless individuals, businesses and organizations who joined in the out-pour of generosity and contributed to this project over the last year.
Together, we raised over $500,000! Now, we can remodel and transform 1400 N. State Street to become a welcoming space for our community members with developmental disabilities.
This project signals that inclusion matters in Whatcom County, and every person belongs to this wonderful place we call “home”. Our hearts are full of gratitude and excitement for the bright future ahead of us!
